No mês passado estive em Florença para a conferência Maveba organizada pela Claudia Manfredi, minha colega na acção COST 2103. A conferência tomou-me a maior parte dos dias mas ainda assim consegui dar uns curtos passeios pela cidade de manhã cedo (antes da 9h) e no intervalo entre a última sessão e o programa social da noite (das 18h às 20h). Um aviso a futuros visitantes: as visitas aos museus com a Galleria degli Uffizi e a Galleria dell’Accademia devem ser reservadas e compradas com antecedência na internet (aqui). Como eu só descobri isso quando lá estava, só havia reservas para depois do Natal… De qualquer forma ainda tive oportunidade apreciar a cidade e deixo aqui algumas fotografias.

Last month I was in Florence for the Maveba conference, organised by Claudia Manfredi, my colleague in the action COST 2103. The conference took me most of the days but I still managed to make some short trips around the city in the early morning (before 9am) and between the last session and social programme of the night (from 6pm to 8pm). A warning to future visitors: visits to museums like the Galleria degli Uffizi and Galleria dell’Accademia should be booked and purchased well in advance on the Internet (here). As I only discovered this while I was there, the only available reservation were for after Christmas … In any case I was still able to appreciate the city and I leave here some photographs.
